Landscape Architect Job Overview
In order to meet the Basic Qualifications for a Landscape Architect, GS-0807 position, you must: A. have a degree with a major in Landscape Architect or Landscape design; OR B. have a combination of education and experience that includes, for each year short of graduation, at least 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design. In addition to the above, in order to qualify for a Landscape Architect position at the GS-0807-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience at or at least equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) Providing technical advice and guidance on landscape design, site development, and landscape maintenance; 2) administering fertilization, maintenance, and integrated pest management programs; 3) establishing long-range landscape development plans in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; 4) performing site visits to determine impacts of projects on landscape master plans; 5) developing regenerative landscape designs and visualizations.
