Selective Placement Factor (SPF): This position has an SPF which is current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. You must provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify you meet this requirement. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience as a professional MECHANICAL ENGINEER at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading production of facilities mechanical engineering design packages, including design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing facilities mechanical engineering design submittals to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials; and 3) Providing facilities mechanical engineering design consultation services to officials during construction.
