Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes, 1) Auditing complex medical records in a hospital or specialty healthcare clinic to identify and correct coding inaccuracies. 2) Analyzing error trends in International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Evaluation and Management (E/M) documentation to develop actional reports or/and training material. AND 3) Delivering expert guidance and technical knowledge to measurably improve coding accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
