In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Managing intelligence and security programs (such as personnel, information, and communications security) to ensure organizational compliance with defense regulations and operational objectives; 2. Planning and evaluating short- and long-term intelligence operations, project milestones, and mission requirements to align operational capabilities with organizational strategic goals; 3. Formulating and justifying program budgets, staffing requirements, and operational resource allocations to secure necessary funding and support for ongoing mission execution before resource advisory bodies; 4. Advising and briefing senior leadership and external defense or interagency stakeholders on complex intelligence assessments and policy matters to guide executive decision-making and build operational consensus. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
