To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires candidates to be able to fluently read, speak, and write in both English and Spanish language. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. Your fluency in both English and Spanish must be documented in your resume or somewhere in your application package or you will not receive consideration for this position. Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: General Experience Requirement: you must possess at least 1 year of general experience. General Experience is (1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation. This experience includes activities such as: clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled such as operating an electronic cash register, providing information in both English and Spanish, and dealing with a high volume of personal contacts. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- Education: Successful completion of at least 2 years above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. You must include transcripts. -OR- Combination of education and experience. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
