Eligible candidates who apply by 03 September may be sent first for consideration. Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should not include photos. To be found eligible, resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities as they pertain to the qualifications listed below. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position. - For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, secondary education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. OR one of the following: Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2: Option 1: A combination of education and experience: Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position. 2. The McCormick Credential. OR Option 2: A combination of education and experience: Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" and may be sent first for consideration: Highly Preferred candidates will submit resumes reflecting ALL of the following experience: 2 years of experience in working with youth 12-18 years of age Experience facilitating Boys & Girls Clubs of America and/or 4H clubs 2 years of experience working with Army inspections
