Financial Management Analyst Job Overview

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Applying theories, concepts, principles, and practices of financial management programs to resolve financial and budgetary problems and policy issues within Department of Defense Financial Management Regulations. Utilizing knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Department of Defense budgetary policies, procedures to perform analyses and proposes solutions to financial-Joint Staff related issues. Developing budgetary and financial management operating procedures/policies and systems guidance. Operating Comptroller Accounting Budget System (CABS) and Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes/systems to ensure budgetary legislative process and compliance with fiscal laws. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
